The California Catholic Conferences has prepared a brief summary of the Propositions
On August 1, 2008, the California bishops issued a statement of strong support of Proposition 8—the initiative which will restore the definition of marriage to the “union of one man and one woman.”
In addition, they have lent their support to Proposition 4 and expressed their opposition to Proposition 6.

The bishops ask that you prayerfully consider your vote on these propositions in light of Catholic teaching.
