Office of Development

The Office of Development offers the following services to the Archdiocese, its parishes and parishioners:

  • Management of the Archbishop’s Annual Appeal
  • Oversight of School Endowments
  • Assist parishes with Capital Campaigns
  • Coordinate Luncheon for the Priests Retirement Fund
  • Facilitate Planned Giving and Bequests
  • Private Foundation support and Grant Writing
  • Coordinate Stock Donations

Rod has a twenty-eight year career in fundraising, and he has worked extensively with the greater Church and several parishes in the Archdiocese. Rod believes that collaboration and a mission-driven focus are integral to an organization’s ability to support and assist those it serves, and he looks forward to helping address the goals of the Archdiocese and the individual parishes. He has an undergraduate degree in Business Management from the University of Notre Dame and a graduate degree in Finance from the University of San Francisco. A Bay Area native, Rod and his family are active members of St. Gregory Parish in San Mateo.

A member of the Congregation of Saint Basil, Father Giampietro has been the Director of Development for the Archdiocese since August of 2014. Prior to that he was Director of Development and Academic Dean at Saint Patrick’s Seminary & University in Menlo Park. Father Giampietro serves on the board of directors of the University of Saint Thomas in Houston, where he was Chair of the philosophy department for several years. He received his PhD from Fordham University in 2003. Father Giampietro grew up in Washington, D.C., where his father was a professor of sculpture and ceramics at Catholic University.

Florian Romero graduated from the University of Santo Tomas in Manila, Philippines with a B.A. in Advertising. She worked for the Cupertino Union School District for ten years. Prior to that, she was the Founder and Vice President of Save-A-Lot, a chain of retail stores in the Philippines. After working in for-profits for more than twenty years, Florian wanted to give back by serving the Catholic Community and Church. She has been working in the Office of Development with the San Francisco Archdiocese for over nine years.
