Coats for Kids in San Francisco

Knights of Columbus and Missionaries of Charity bring warmth and love

The Knights of Columbus teamed up with the Missionaries of Charity to bring warmth during this Advent season, distributing coats and hot meals at Immaculate Conception Chapel in the Mission District of San Francisco.

The Knights Coats for Kids’ goal is to make sure no child in North America is without a coat during the winter months. The national organization works with local councils which fundraise and purchase the coats.

This year the Missionaries of Charity and the Knights of Columbus hosted a food truck and Coats for Kids event at the Immaculate Conception Chapel in San Francisco. Past Grand Knight Alexei Lukban of the Cathedral of St. Mary of the Assumption Council in San Francisco led the Dec. 18 event with more than 20 knights from councils in Marin, San Francisco and San Mateo counties. State Deputy Noel Panlilio and State Treasurer Greg Marracqs were also on hand to help.
